Sailing is a “team sport”, as well as being entertaining and fun. In general, it is enjoyed by both men and women of all ages. CSA participants are expected to have an interest in learning and developing their sailing skills through their crewing experiences.
We encourage you to discuss any doubts you might have about your suitability for the activity with a CSA crew before undertaking your first outing. You may also want to simply “ride along” and stay out of the way until you feel comfortable enough to fully participate.
Experienced boat owners with sufficient crew can feel free to rendezvous with the CSA fleet at Cambridge City Marina, Pier-E or F. If you are a boat owner in need of crew, and/or if you are new to sailing, we recommend you contact any CSA member as far in advance of the race as possible, so you can safely and comfortably “ease into it.” Experienced Crew: (all experience levels) should rendezvous at Pier- E, Slip 17 to choose your boat in accordance with CSA crewing protocol prior to the race start. If you’re just not sure, you should show-up as early as you can or contact a CSA member by e-mail or phone, in advance.

CSA currently has six (6) 30+ foot boats dedicated to crew sharing available for any given race. Each boat can easily accommodate 6 or more crew. So, if you are prepared to crew, you will get to choose your ride on any night you show-up at the dock.
